A fact check for the GOP, that is. It's apparent that the Republicans have let yet another thing fall through the cracks - reality.

Seriously? Still with the hair?

It was a refreshing change to see a female face among the legion of male ones usually found on the Sunday political talk show circuit. However, apparently not everyone was as happy as we were to see veteran journalist Christiane Amanpour take over the reins of This Week. Sadly, the criticism seems all too familiar and all too shallow: “that hair of hers — yipe. What's the deal with that?”

Bachmann: all subpoenas and hearings, all the time!

Who says today's GOP running out of ideas? Cong. Michele Bachmann has a fantastic new agenda: "I think all we should do is issue subpoenas and have one hearing after another and expose all the nonsense that has gone on." Michele unveiled this compelling plan at a convention for young Republicans. And really, what could be more pressing than endless partisan investigations and politically motivated witch-hunts?

Update: She's [still] not on our team.

When I last wrote about Sharron Angle, the far-right and ultra-conservative candidate running against Sen. Harry Reid in Nevada, I wasn't expecting to change her mind on the issues. She's received the anti-choice endorsement of the Susan B. Anthony List and believes that job creation is not the business of the US Senate. She's pretty entrenched in the other side's camp.

Sarah Palin released a web video this morning and it's begun making the rounds. She's trying to sell the "Mama Grizzly" brand to women across America as if it were the next 'lose ten pounds in ten days' fad diet.

GOPer Rossi: We are sinners. Seriously.

Yesterday during an interview with Hotline OnCall, Dino Rossi - Republican challenger to EL Sen. Patty Murray - told the reporters that he doesn't mind he is getting into the race late. Rossi says, "In the old adage, there are saints and sinners and those who can be saved. The saints are with us, the sinners are not. And the ones that can be saved are the ones we will be talking to."

Looking Closely at the new Republican Nominees: Radical Right-winger Sharron Angle turns to a new audience – "The ATM for Bush's America"

So, women in primaries last week drew a lot of attention. Are Republican women making gains, the headlines shrieked? It's worth noting that of the NRCC’s vaunted "Young Guns" program – 8 of 104 are women. This is hardly a revolution. We welcome these women, as we do any woman who knows that gender isn't a barrier to leadership. But we're going to look closely at what they stand for – and contrast it with the values and accomplishments of our pro-choice Democratic women, who do so much for their communities and our country.

Yesterday, we told you about the outrageous comments printed in the Medina County (Ohio) Republican Executive Committee's Republican Review newsletter, saying "Let's take Betty Sutton out of the House and put her back in the kitchen." You were all as disgusted as we were -- but if you thought the situation was already bad, just wait -- there's more.
