Sep 17, 2008: Transferring top-of-the-ticket energy down the ballot
Barack Obama is changing the shape of the electorate of this country. This country has seen a huge increase in voter registration this year, and even bigger increases among younger voters, people of color, non-college voters, as well as college students, and unmarried women. These groups are politically progressive and disproportionately Democratic. Of the 326,823 newly registered (this year) voters in North Carolina, 176,806 are registered Democrats, just 21,672 are registered Republicans.
Sep 3, 2008: EMILY's List presents national polling on McCain-Palin ticket
On behalf of EMILY's List, Garin-Hart-Yang Research Group conducted a national survey among 800 women voters to assess their reactions to and perceptions of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate. Interviewing was conducted on August 31 and September 1, 2008. The margin of error for the findings is +/- 3.5 percentage points.
